Pastor Michael & Darlene Schooley

Pastor and Darlene’s story began at their Alma Mater, North Central University, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  It was there that a small town boy from Arkansas City, Kansas met and fell in love with a Swedish girl that grew up on a dairy farm in Monticello, Minnesota . . . and so their journey began.

Full-time ministry was not their first stop, however.  Pastor was sure that the business world was where he wanted to be and dove in head first.  They were actively involved in their local church, teaching Sunday school, helping with kids clubs, serving on the church board, etc.  And while life was good and success came in both a business career and a military career, a calling to ministry that had come during summer camp when he was twleve years old still tugged at his heart.  Eventually that calling would prove to be too strong to resist and they entered full-time ministry.

The rest, as they say, is history.  After sixteen years of ministry in Wisconsin, Pastor and Darlene moved to Kansas.  They are thrilled to be a part of what God is doing in and through Crosspointe Community Church.

In their free time, they love to spend time with their family – they have two daughters, Kristi & Kari who are both married and live in Ottawa – and particularly love spending time with their two grandchildren – Alexis & Nicholas.  They love a good coffee shop where they can read and trying new restaurants.

When the weather permits, Pastor enjoys riding his Harley. He is also a die-hard KU Jayhawks fan.

Darlene is a coffee connoisseur who loves reading and her quiet time.  Given the chance, you’ll find her at a coffee shop with a hot cup of coffee, her Bible & planner, and her latest book.  Darlene is also a talented musician and enjoys singing and playing the piano on the C3 worship team.
